Bank of Canada may cut Interest rates by 0.5%
The Canadian unemployment rate increased to 6.8% in November, the highest since 2017 (excluding the COVID-19 pandemic years of 2020 and 2021). The unemployment rate has been trending upward since April 2023. U.S unemployment rate also increased to 4.2% from 4.1%.

Bank of Canada also released its forecast for next week’s interest rate decision, and we could potentially see a 0.5% drop in the overnight rate.
Currently, the CAD is down against most major currencies.
